Zoé Rossion graduated in Cinema from HEAD Geneva, Switzerland. Her works, which deal with social and postcolonial issues, have won awards at many festivals since her days of studies.

Director's Note
We decided to make this film in 2019 for the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the wall of Berlin. We wanted to come back to the dark pages of the GDR history and talk about the surveillance society that was established in that regime. Also because surveillance society is a very hot topic at the moment all around the world. The interrogators of the jail would use what they called "white torture", a kind of psychological torture that leaves no physical traces. Nowadays, you can visit the jail. It is interesting to know that all the tour guides are former prisoners of this jail, and Hans (the focus of the film) is one of them. - Mathilde Babo
