Bárbara Paz

In Portuguese, French, English and German with Eng Sub

Brazilian actress Barbara Paz was asked by her partner, famed director Héctor Babenco, to record the last moments of his life. The resulting footage evolved into this film that is both Paz's directorial debut and Babenco's final feature. It is at the same time an intimate record of pain and death and a piece of memory and reflection on the art of filmmaking that uncovers the profound wisdom trapped inside the ailing body of the protagonist.

Director's Profile
Receiver of the Brazilian Ministry of Cultures Medalha Cavaleiro (Knights Medal), Bárbara Paz is an actress, director and producer. She graduated from the Macunaíma Theatre School, and has performed and hosted in theaters, films and televisions for many years. Babenco: Tell Me When I Die is her first documentary feature.

Babenco: Tell Me When I Die has been classified as Category III. Refunds will be made to ticket holders under 18 years of age who buy tickets before the announcement.

Director's Note
The film is a visual poem, my ode to Hector. It is also my farewell to him. It reveals through my eyes the inner man and his love for cinema, which helped keep him alive for so many years. He died as he lived, filming to the end.

Tickets will be available at screening venue and the Broadway Cinema Website from 23 October.
